Two Revised Professional Performance Guidelines Posted on the SVU website

Recently SVU’s Professional Performance Guidelines Subcommittee, chaired by Joanne Drago, LPN, RVT, FSVU, revised two SVU Professional Performance Guidelines from June 2005 and they have been posted to the Professional Performance Guidelines section on the home page of the website.

The two revised SVU Guidelines are:

• Extracranial Cerebrovascular Duplex Ultrasound Evaluation (6/01/08)
• Lower Extremity Venous Duplex Evaluation (6/01/08)

It is SVU policy to review our 20 current Professional Performance Guidelines every three years from the date of their posting on the website to see if they need to be updated. The SVU Professional Performance Guidelines represent the minimal essential elements of vascular exam performance as recommended by the SVU. They are not designed to replace internally generated laboratory specific protocols, but to serve as a template for developing or updating the procedures at your vascular laboratory.
